    Ryūji Sasai (笹井 隆司) is a Japanese bass player and former video game music composer. In the 1980s, he was the bassist of the Japanese progressive rock band Novella. During the 1980s to 1990s, he also worked for Micro Cabin, where he worked with Tadahiro Nitta in composing music for the Xak series of action RPG titles. He also worked for Squaresoft from 1991 to 1998.
