Y'all overthinking these nugs. Think I could do 300 Mcnuggets in 2 hours not even thinking about it. Can I wash it down with Whiskey?
When I was younger, I could have probably done this, or come close. I was that annoying kid with high metabolism that could eat and eat and not gain weight. . . then I hit 30.
I kinda of agree with you. It seems to take a little longer to get to video game stuff.
Look, I understand that they have usually riffed about things outside of video games at the beginning of the Bombcast, however it does seem to go on for longer lately.
Like I said, to me it seems that way. I am doing more "active" listening to the new crew, where as I would mentally tune out when the old crew started talking about things outside of video games, particularly wrestling. I would wait for the signature "video game" music to tune back in.
The reason Microsoft can make all their first party games free w/GamePass is twofold.
1. At 2.3 Trillion, Microsoft has more capital than 14 Sonys and the games business is a very small part of that 2 Trillion. The games business is the largest slice of Sony’s 150 Billion.
2. Microsoft doesn’t really care about making a profit on GamePass. GamePass a way to acquire users and user data, which will feed into their other businesses. Games are the thing that makes Sony money. They can’t use them as a loss leader.
That is not how businesses with multiple divisions work. MS's gaming division cannot submit a budget with a loss and pass it off because their Productivity division (Office) will "make up for it". Each division is still expected to be profitable, unless their are some extenuating circumstances.
Like Sony, MS relies on games and services to make money for its gaming division. It is well known that neither Sony or MS make much, if any, money on the consoles. In a review with IGN last summer, Phil Spencer said the Xbox division was profitable. Meaning that profit is primarily coming from games and services, the same as Sony. It would be fair to say that Game Pass was probably not very profitable in the beginning (as is common), but I do not think Xbox can afford for it to be a loss leader in the long run.
Sony needs to make the service attractive to people so that they buy it and it ultimately makes them money. Not including first party games really limits the appeal of Sony's offering.
I grew up in the mid-west and am still here, save for the 7 years I lived in Japan for work.
While I certainly cannot speak for every place in the mid-west, I enjoy living here. The people are generally friendly, and the lifestyle is laid-back.
I have no desire to live on either coast. In fact, I turned down a job offer because I would have to move to California.
I almost hate to admit this, but I used to confuse Bill Pullman and Bill Paxton all the time. I know they look nothing alike, but both being Bill confused me. In fact, while scanning Netflix, I came upon a screen grab for recent series starring Bill Pullman. For a second, I thought, "oh they must have filmed that before he died".
