I cried at the end of Chapter 14, and my gag reflex started triggering involuntarily. Not because of any particular visuals or anything. Because this game was talking about me.
It's probably not for everyone, but man... I want to meet Davey. I want to thank him in person for this game. I've legitimately learned a lot about myself from playing it.
It really resonated with me as well, and I think that was a big part of the whole thing. The Narrator's belief that you can learn about a creator through their work is not always the case, but you'll always learn about yourself.
The Narrator did too, but he impressed himself onto Coda's work, stringing together what narrative and design changes he wanted. Though, my interpretation may be no less of a projection than his own.
Bah, it's 6AM. Sleepy time then more thinking about this.
I gotta go through it again and think about it some more. My initial thought though is that it's all projection. You come away from it knowing next to nothing about the creator, other that the fact that there was a particularly troubling presence in his life. That said, there are still a bunch of different and intriguing ideas brought up on the way.
