Doing a "let's roast this art" show is super tough, but this works for me. Feels like all their shots are fair, and even though this album didn't get it, I really like the idea of finding the good in something critically panned. I will say this feels like a podcast though. I'd love to have it on a podcast feed so I can easily play the audio.
It’s always been funny to me that Mass Effect 2 opens up with killing you and blowing up your ship just to undo both of those decisions within the next couple hours.
@therealturk: I'm so glad I've been seeing more and more people as concerned with these kinds of remasters as I am. I couldn't agree more. I really don't like how comfortable remasters have become with overwriting the original art.
God, for all their clumsiness, I love games of this era. Fuck your "systems" and your "metagame" we have one idea and we're going to do an absolutely adequate job of executing it.
@someramguy: The first thing I thought of is the Final Fantasy 3/6 thing. Or maybe even Super Mario Bros 2 US vs Doki Doki Panic and Super Mario Bros 2/Lost Levels. It's like in effort to make these things accessible to western audiences, they accidentally make them confusing as heck.
