    Overview

Pro Evolution Soccer 3 is the third instalment in the Pro Evolution Soccer sports game series, which was developed and published by Konami. It was released in 2003.

Alongside a Sony PlayStation 2 release, the game was also the first in the series to be released on the PC.

The game was known as Winning Eleven 7 in Japan, which as the name suggests is the seventh instalment within the Winning Eleven series.

Despite the cover of the game featuring famous referee Pierluigi Collina, he does not actually feature in the game itself.

One of the new features introduced to the series by the game was the Shop mode, which allows players to accumulate points from playing other game modes, and to then use these points to buy hidden items such as new players, stadiums, features and teams.

The game featured for support for 1-4 players (playing with 3 or 4 players was achieved through the use of the Multitap peripheral). The Master League mode was extended to encompass four divisions, and the graphics and gameplay engine both received a major overhaul.
