Ashenvale, also known as Ashenvale Forest, is a wilderness region south of Darkshore and Felwood, west of Azshara, and north of the Stonetalon Mountains and the Barrens.
Azshara is located in northeastern Kalimdor, east of Ashenvale, south of Winterspring, and north of Durotar.
Azuremyst Isle is one of the two main islands that make up the Azuremyst Isles.
The Azuremyst Isles are a group of islands located off the coast of northern Kalimdor.
Bloodmyst Isle is the second of the two major isles of the Azuremyst Isles.
Located deep below Tanaris, the Caverns of Time is the home of several portals which lead to key historical events in Warcraft history and is guarded by the Nozdormu and the Bronze Dragonflight.
Darkshore is the second location early Night Elf characters will visit in World of Warcraft. It is known for its gloomy atmosphere.
The capital city for the Night Elves of Kalimdor. The tranquil city is ruled by the high priestess Tyrande Whisperwind and Arch Druid Fandral Staghelm.
Desolace is a forsaken piece of land in Kalimdor. Its almost entirely devoid of Alliance and Horde civilization, except for a few wayward Night Elves, Trolls, and Tauren. Its also a major zone in World of Warcraft.
Durotar is the first location Orc characters will encounter in World of Warcraft. It is also home to Orgrimmar, the Orcish capital city.
Dustwallow Marsh is a vast and ancient swamp in Central Kalimdor that is home to many old and wonderful beasts.
Located north of Ashenvale, Felwood is contested by the Alliance and the Horde and is one of the pathways into Winterspring.
Once part of the great expansion of Night Elf power, the forest of Feralas holds many ancient ruins as well as the great city now known as Dire Maul that has long since been overgrown by the native plant life.
Moonglade is a haven for druids, and home of the Cenarion Circle.
Mount Hyjal once held the great World Tree of Nordrassil. It is also a 25-man raid instance in the Caverns of time, where you are brought back in time to fight in the legendary Battle of Mount Hyjal.
Mulgore is the first location Tauren players will encounter in World of Warcraft. Its also home to Thunder Bluff, the Tauren capital city.
Orgrimmar is the capital city of the orcs and trolls in World of Warcraft, and is also considered by most to be the capital city of the Horde. Orgrimmar is located at the northern edge of Durotar on the continent of Kalimdor.
One of the most mysterious locations in World of Warcraft. An extremely high level zone home to a the raid instance Ahn'Qiraj.
The Stonetalon Mountains are one the earlier locations Horde players will visit in World of Warcraft.
Tanaris is a desert, currently home to the profiteering Goblins. It is a major quest hub in World of Warcraft.
Teldrassil is the new home for the Night Elves, players who create a Night Elf character in World of Warcraft will begin their journy here.
The Barrens is a large, desert-like area of Kalimdor situated between Durotar, Mulgore, the Stonetalon Mountains, and Thousand Needles.

A Naaru base that was used as an escape ship for the Draenei. The ship crash landed on Azuremyst Isle and introduced the Draenei to the planet Azeroth. It is currently in use as a Draenei capital city and is lead by the Draenei Prophet Velen.
The Thousand Needles is a vast canyon, called home by the peaceful Tauren. It is a Horde favored leveling zone in World of Warcraft.
Thunder Bluff is located in Mulgore and is the capital city of the Tauren. It is ruled by the Chieftain Cairne Bloodhoof.
Uldum is an ancient desert south of Un'goro Crater on the coast of Kalimdor, two new dungeons will be added there with the realse of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

Caught in everlasting winter, Winterspring is the northernmost location in Kalimdor. It is one of the last locations players will encounter in Azeroth.
