Did you just make that up?

Edit:
Wait depressive Black Metal? Isn't it all kinda depressing? There is uplifting Black Metal?

Normal Black Metal are bands like: Immortal, Darkthrone, Mayhem and so forth...

Tool
Coheed and Cambria
Paramore
Disturbed
Iron Maiden
Bon Jovi
ZZ Top
Wyclef Jean
Daft Punk
Nightwish
Priestess
System of a Down

I like to keep it pretty varied, but my favorite genres are Alt Rock and Metal/Nu Metal

Not disagreeing with you that the picture is stupid, but Disturbed sure as hell isn't childish o.0

I read a few definitions on Extreme Metal and a few on Melodic death metal. They really seem like Melodic death metal, with their varying vocals (Growls and normal singing) and melodic guitar work and their use of acoustic guitar.

But that's just the nature of the Progressive style.... the fact their songs are long, changes between acoustic and electric, changes in growling and clean, that is their progressive style... You have to label them at least as an Progressive band, and in my opinion (like Ihsahn, Emperor) they are Extreme Progressive Metal band.

I see what you mean by calling them Extreme, but I'm leaning more towards progressive melodic death, forgot to add the progressive part in the other post. Although they are also very bluesy as well.
Know what? I think Opeth is just Opeth. lol

Wow, I was typing exactly those two words and then I saw you already did. So, yeah, I will quote that.

In addition, I like R&B/Soul, more akin to Al Green, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Otis Redding and Smokey Robinson than any modern "R&B". Also, the term "classic rock" covers a lot of ground so I will say 50s all the way to the 90s, even if 90s alternative overlaps with that. Jazz is also great, classical too. I like soundtracks for a lot of movies and some games (the Harry Potter soundtracks are usually in my rotation of some sort) and folk, blues, and even some country are fine in my eyes.

In order of amount listened to:

Hip-Hop
Funk
Soul
Jazz
Techno/Trance
Raggae

The caveat here being that it has to be good music.  Despite that, I listen to a LOT of hip-hop so I guess that says something about how lazy people can be when it comes to finding good music.
