Sandwich with middle pieces, eat the other two as toast. The heels aren't bad if you toast em w/ jam and butter.

Reflecting back on kid me, except for the fact they can be thinner, I don't see why I had hate on end pieces.

It's all bread.

Eat them.

I go for the middle on instinct, but have no issue eating end pieces either.

I make TWO sandwiches.

Either two matched or two unmatched. Either way, it really only counts as like a sandwich and a half.

Alternatively forget the sandwich heels make a better toast than a full slice anyway.

I prefer middle pieces, as ends can be really thin sometimes, but either is fine. Taking one of each is a mistake though; my experience from family and roommate is that you can never trust someone else to eat the ends. They'll just leave it in there for someone else to eat, and if it's just one slice, I probably won't eat it. I don't have toast that often.

You make two sandwiches, each with a matching pair, give the one with two middles to your mom and you stop being a baby or it’s the last bread you will ever eat, got it you ingrate!?! Wait until your father gets home!

In line with what someone already said, the 2 ends toasted can be made into a Peanut butter (crunchy) and Jelly sandwich that works really well. As well as for other sandwiches. Also, the ends can be used for dipping into soup or with spaghetti, say probably buttered.

I always go for the middle slices, but NOT because I dislike the end slices. Actually, I just think the end pieces are really useful because I think they lock in the moisture a bit better and keep the rest from getting stale. So, I just leave the two end slices until the very end and then eat them together.

I consider the end pieces to be the protectors of the rest of the bread. The middle is what I'm going for first, while the ends shelter the soft insides. I still enjoy the end pieces, but they get saved until the end. Usually for an egg on toast situation.

You're supposed to eat the first end piece when you open the bag, you know, like a man, then by the time you get to the last end piece it's stale so you can use it with soup or feed it to the birds, or it's moldy and you throw it away.

Crusts on pre-sliced bread are always the absolute worst part of the bread, and end pieces are ENTIRELY crust, so they can go to my partner who loves all crusts.

There's some toxic shit in this thread about an individual's eating preference that effects nobody but the person eating the bread, or in worst case effects the 20p heels ignored to the point where they have to be binned.

EDIT: That said, by the time there's only two slices left along with the heels, those two slices are pretty much stale anyway, so if I'm making a sandwich I'll usually open the new loaf and leave the stale non-heels for toast.

You make a sandwich out of the ends and very loudly go around the house reminding everyone else that you are bearing that cross for them and that they are cowards.

Why would I make two flawed sandwiches; instead one good sandwich and one flawed sandwich? I don't mind the heel of the bread, it fine, but why spread it out????

Make one regular ass sandwich, and use the end pieces individually as toast -- easy.

If you use the end, the middle pieces will dry out faster. So, middles first.

You only use the butt pieces if that's all you've got and you don't have another loaf.

...and there's nothing else to eat/make for lunch.

The heels are really good for toast. One heel and one middle make for a decent pb&j too.
