What a shame. I was looking forward to the Boy Wonder being in the next movie so much /sarcasm.
Christian Bale = selfish for not wanting a Robin in any movie.

No Robin, but a friend of mine thought Harvey Dent turned into Robin. lol. So he saw the third theatrical trailer for The Dark Knight, and he just says out loud Yes Robin's going to be in this one, and everyone in the theater turns to look at this idiot, but of course he's sitting next to me, so they think I'm an Idiot also lol. I start rattling off at him. It was really funny. We almost go thrown out for arguing to loudly.
Yeah Robin doesn't fit in with Nolan's Batman at all. I don't think he is being selfish, just taking some pride in his work.
I know some people like Robin, but I think he is a weak character. Maybe if they made a new robin as a drunk lose cannon. Like ready to brawl. Because he has always been a wuss in the past.
Robin difficult to do well with current tone of Batman movie. Hulk never like idea of sidekicks and always feel it outdated gimmick from 60s that get carried over longer than should.
Looking at comics of today Hulk notice only superhero that still actively have sidekick is Batman, because Robin is such famous character DC feels honor bound to keep character around in one form or another. Hulk much preferred having Dick Grayson grow up and become Nightwing then no more Robin.
Present day Robin (Tim Drake) little more tolerable for Hulk cause he now around age 17 or 18, but anytime sidekick character 14 years old with no super powers and fighting crime Hulk have trouble suspending disbelief.
I don't believe Christopher Nolan wants Robin either. It wouldn't work in the series at this current time. Not saying that someday down the line that might change....but hopefully in the hands of a skilled writer/director. Robin has a habit of ruining the series.
I think the only way Robin would be in the next one would be to cater for the slower, below par intelligent part of the audience.Because Robin, as we know, is the master of the obvious.
"Holy smokes Batman, the building is on fire! We've got to save those people!"
I HATE Robin. Bringing him into the series would just straight up ruin the movies Nolan is trying to portray.
Lol, um no actually I totally agree with Bale, this series of Batman does not need a side kick, it wouldn't fit in, and its stupid, like he said in this one "I DONT NEED HELP!"
If robin or batgirl or any of that crap entered into Nolan's and Bale's films i wouldnt go to see them. Keep it simple, keep it dark. leave all the campy crap out please.
I think there is a difference between selfishness and plain old good sense. I don't think the idea of bringing Robin back is a completely bad idea I think the bad idea is the follow through that we have seen. I think in the correct way you could bring him back to have another character to play off batman.
1. Robin needs to be played by an unknown. You can't have someone everyone knows playing Robin so to keep him in the place he deserves to be, as a sidekick.
2. Minimize the time Robin is allowed to talk. I never found in the movies or the TV show he had anything good to say. A proper script can allow the character to be involved but let the characters we care about talk.
3. If you are going to step back in time to bring him back you must also bring back the "Shark Repellent"
Nolan's Batman wouldn't put some kid in danger and anyways at a point it just gets creepy having a young boy in tights hanging around batman all night. "You've tripped on one of your tricks this time, Joker!" Or, "The way we get into these scrapes and get out of them, it's almost as though someone was dreaming up these situations; guiding our destiny." Ah, Robin you say the darndest things.
"Christian Bale sucks as Batman IMO.I see what you did there! You told me you were just trying to start a flame war lol. Anyways if you actually do think that its your opinion and people have to respect that but how could you think he sucks as Batman. George Clooney was terrible, Val Kilmer was just alright. Christian Bale FTW!
"
I don't want to see Robin EVER in Nolan's adaptation of the superhero. He's pathetic, uncool, efiminate. He'd ruin the seriousness that Nolan has built up with Begins and the Dark Knight. Oh, and just for the record, Nolan has also said (before Begins was even released) that as long as he was director, we would never see Robin in his movies.
"Or maybe it is because Robin sucks... which he does. A cool character? He's the most pathetic excuse for a sidekick I have ever seen.Agreed.
"
"Robin sucks badly, possibly one of the most hated comic characters.Do you even read comics?
I dont think hes selfish as much as protecting himself from being in a bad situation.
anyone remember what happened to the last movie that featured robin?
"
"Didn't Bale assualt his mum or something, damm idiot"If you listen to the news there wasn't a scratch on her. Probably just a family matter. The police said it was a simple push, nothing more. The mother probably just wanted some money.
Why are people saying "Robin is a great character, who is well liked"?
Need I remind you that Batman fans voted by phone to kill Robin during the "A Death in the Family" line?
Any sensible person despises that ill conceived bastard...
"Robin is a cool character, I think that is very selfish on Bale's part I think he wants the whole movie to be about himself, well newsflash Bale, you're not batman in real life. I think everyone here agrees that Joker is 5x cooler than Batman, and to see a character as cool as the Robin was in the Batman cartoon, I think that would be very neat! Discuss.hes not selfish, hes smart. robin would take away from the atmosphere of the movie. keeping robin out would be the best thing. same goes for bat girl.
Oh and for those who don't know what I am talking about Bale said that he won't take part in a Batman movie that has a Robin in it >:(!
