New Xbox 360 Dashboard, Like it or Loath it?

i just think it looks too much like Apple's Front Row, and PS3's XMB. its window's media center slapped on a gaming console. there was no NEED for this either.

I like it. I don't know what is wrong with the avatars people are complaining alot about them.

I am thrilled with the new dashboard.  With the addition of themes, they look modern and sleek as well as giving the appearance of a user friendlier interface. :D

I like it.  Its simple yet effective which is what im looking for.  I dont need 1000% flash and 10% substance.

Best part is if you dont like it you dont really have to use it according to Major Nelson.

It looks really nice. The current dashboard is meh.

If its not broke dont fix it

I love it although it does take many things from the XMB interface and (of course) Mii's.  But Its for the best.

Also, I heard on the Major Nelson Podcast that people don't have to use the Avatars, they can simply use one of their gamerpics to represent themselves in group parties or in the Dashboard.

I like it, but I wonder if this change will effect Microsoft's plans to take some games off of XBLA. Visually, I think it's a lot better, but I wonder what functional problems it's going to solve, or if it's just going to create new ones.

I like the idea of it, as long as they don't become too much like Wii then it should be a good addon

Universal parties is kick ass, now they just need a universal matchmaking for all games.

Avatars look kinda lame though.

The whole Netflix thing is a great addition. However, I think the new dash is just Microsoft trying to be Nintendo, which totally alienates the people who actually have an XBOX 360 now. I guess I'll have to get used to it. I just wish I could keep my Harvey Dent gamer picture. :(

I feel pretty meh about both the current and the one they will release. I have my wii for the avatars stuff...well see how it works out tho.

I dont really care what it looks like or does, but im hoping for a dramatic technical improvement over the current. Its always felt as if the machine cant handle opening the dash during a game.

I look forward to it.

I just still want to watch HD-DVDs... if it does that, then I'm good.

It looks like media Center design

 I hate the avatars, I don't want one of those staring at me when I turn on my console. I don't mind the redesign though.

the dashboard is ok, but once it's mutilated with ads it'll look awful. avatars can be scrapped anytime soon.

i wont knock it till ive tried it.


I know I couldn't possibly dislike it more than the current one.

I think I am just going to have to really sit down and experience it. The explanation of it and some footage of the interface isn't giving me enough to go off of and give a real good opinion on. Once I have a chance to really interact with it and have something tangible at my fingertips I will be able to have a better handle on the overall impact of the new design.

What's so good is that if you don't like the new interface you can just switch back to the old one.
