I bought this game after I heard about it on the Bombcast and am really enjoying it. I am glad to see Ben got over the covenant rank 2 hump after he spoke about it on the Bombcast, I had similar issues at that level. I have had incredible runs with the last clan, Melting Remnant.

Ok... I've been ignoring this game since I didn't quite love Slay the Spire but I gotta say this looks really fun.

This game is way more fun than StS, especially early in the run.

I can't really speak to the gameplay, maybe it's great, but the thing about Slay the Spire is that it's such a nice package. All of the design is wonderful, it has a unique visual style comparative to most card games, the music is fantastic, all of the information is conveyed in a way dumbasses like myself can understand. This is super generic looking and sounding and completely inscrutable to observe (meanwhile, watching StS is the reason I bought into it). I don't know, it's hard to care about from watching this.

I will say coming from StS I initially thought watching the game that it was impossible to follow. Especially since super high-speed resolving battles is the only way to play it sanely, which makes longer battles seem ridiculous. But once I played through a few runs myself that all fell away pretty quickly. The battle resolve/health indicators alongside the attack/health values very cleanly present the key information you need on any floor, and beyond that it's just learning the mechanics of the game and each clan (which are really not that much).

I don't think it will have the staying power of StS, which I agree is pretty impeccably designed and balanced in a way that makes this game seem fairly unbalanced at times. But it's been a fun and different thing to get into and work up the covenant levels. And the music is great (even if the I'm not a fan of the art style).
